Palomar Microelectronics - Our Customers
Palomar Microelecronics was created in response to our differing customers' needs. Here are examples of Microelectronics customers:
1) Customer Type #1: Needs packaging and assembly services prior to making the investment in high-value and cost capital equipment; the company is an a) an established firm looking to perform R&D (requiring high accuracy, high precision wire bonding and die attach) in order to break into a new market or, b) a start-up firm with limited cash yet needs to develop, protoype and put into production their product.
2) Customer Type #2: Requires packaging and assembly services during the period when their Palomar wire and/or die attach equipment is being built, procured and/or qualified. This customer gets several benefits. First, quicker time to market: Microelectronics develops the customer's process, works out any kinks, and ramps up production. Second, the customer gets a seemless process and production integration when their Palomar systems are moved into their factory location: the application is full steam and producing parts in Palomar's laboratory. The only step required is shipping the Palomar system from Palomar's Carlsbad Headquarters to the customer's facility.
Inside Palomar Microelectronics
Palomar Microelectronics has an entire laboratory and specialized clean room space (Class 1,000 - 10,000), with a full range of high accuracy packaging and test equipment. Microelectronics employs several dedicated full-time, highly skilled engineering and technical personnel that support all of the lab's assembly and packaging, quality, and test applications and capabilities.
Partnerships
Palomar Microelectronics has strong relationships with manufacturing partners to support low-cost, close proximity, high volume production, surface mount, wafer saw, and component handling (e.g., Gel Pak and wafer packaging). Palomar Microelectronics' customers are provided with sophisticated key capabilities and experience through demonstration the ability to deliver high quality and high reliability turnkey products.
